WEEK-END EXCURSIONS
The next of the week-end rail excursions to Hawke’s Bay has been arranged for January 26 and 27. The excursion embraces an innovation requested by a number of the regular patrons; the outward train to leave late on the Saturday night and arrive at destination early the next morning, and thus avoid accommodation costs to the excursionists. Another feature is that the fares have been drastically reduced and give first-class travel at less than -Jd. per mile between any two of the stations where the train stops. An advertisement appears in this issue.
