New Zealand Athletes Leave To-day
The athletic team which is to represent the Dominion at the Centenary Gaines nt Melbourne on Jnnitnry 26 and 28 will be entertained at morning tea to-day by the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, and will leave later in the day for Sydney by the Wanganella. Tlie team comprises: Mr. H. L. Towers (Auckland), manager; Messrs. J. B. MacFarlane (Canterbury), 100 yards and 220 yards; T. G. Broadway (Canterbury), 440 yards’and SBO yards; L> C. McLachlan (Otago), 880 yards and one mile; F. Sharpley (Hawke’s Bay), 120yds. hurdles. 100 yards, and 220 low hurdles (if held) ; T. J. Crowe (Wellington), high juißp, hop, step and jump, and long jump; C. 11. Matthews (Canterbury), one mile and three miles, and I. Driscoll (Hawke's Bay), walking.
