Wellington Market Quiet YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS The Wellington stock and share market • was quiet yesterday, but with a firm tone. Government loans were in strong demand; with buyers raising their offers for several of the issues, but there were very few sellers in the market, and no sales were recorded. Banks were again firm. New Zealands continued to move up, with a sale at 4 J/b, and late buyers offering 49/o with sellers holding for 49/8. Commercial of 'Australias, cum. dividend, were done at 16/5, and Unions, Melbourne register, at £9/3/-. . „ Insurance shares were very firm. New Zealands, following the announcement of the interim dividend, advanced bd. to to 0/- with no sellers. South British were wanted at £4/17/-. sellers asking £4/18/6, while National of New Zealands were wanted at 22/- with no sellers. In the meat section New Zealand Kefrigeratings were quiet, sellers asking 21/5 for the £1 paid, while the 10/paid dropped to 10/2, with no buyers in either case. New Zealand Breweries sold late on Tuesday at 52/6, while buyers yesterday advanced their offers 4d. to 52/5, sellers asking 52/9. Electrolytic Zinc Dividend The Electrolytic Zinc Company has advised the Stock Exchange Association that a dividend was declared yesterday at the rate of 8 per cent, for the halfyear ended December 31, 1934, payable on March 13, on the preference shares. Transfer books close on February 5, and reopen on February 7. The dividend is payable to shareholders registered on Feb- > ruary 6. Trustees, Executors & Agency Company The Trustees, Executors and Agency Co., Dtd., Melbourne, advise the Stock Exchange Association that the board of directors has declared an interim dividend for the half-year ended December 31, 1934, at the rate of 6 per cent, per annum, payable on February 1, in connection with which the transfer books of the company will be closed from noon on January 18 till noon on February 1.
