ALL BLACKS’ MANAGER
Appointment Deferred By Committee DECISION NEXT WEEK The selection of the manager for tbe 1935 All Black team to tour Great Britain has been deferred by the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union until next week. The committee, which held its first meeting of the year lust night, was not fully attended. The chairman, Mr. S. S. Dean, after consultation witli members, announced that the question of a selection would be postponed uutil there was a larger attendance. It was decided tentatively to have a apeeial meeting at seven o’clock next Thursday evening. Nominations have closed with five names submitted. A letter was received last night from the Ilorowhenua Rugby Union regarding the boundaries of the Ilorowhenua and Manawatu Rugby Unions. It was sta.ted that Ilorowhenua did not approve of the boundary suggested by tbe N.Z.R.U. Tile question was deferred after an amended suggestion by Ilorowhenua had been read. A request by the Manawatu Rugby Union to have one of the 1935 trial All Black matches played in Palmerston North was held over for further consideration. A motion of sympathy with the Arawa Maoris on the death of their noted chief Mita Taupopokj was passed, members standing as a mark of respect. Mr. Dean said the old chief had been most sympathetic toward rugby football and had rendered tbe game much assistance. Mr. Dean’s action in .sending a wreath was confirmed. A resolution congratulating one of its members, Mr. 11. 11. Sterling, ou the honour of a C.M.G. recently conferred upon him. was adopted.
