Advice was received by the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association from the Hawke’s Bay association last night that it would be prepared to meet Manawatu in a challenge match for the Christie Cup during February. However, the association desired that the match should, be played at Napier and not at Dannevirke, as suggested by Manawatu. The secretary was instructed to advise the Hawke's Baj’ association that it was realised that Manawatu should travel to Napier aud that definite information regarding the challenge would be forwarded later, Mr. Hardy-Boyes was appointed to represent the association on the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. It was decided to support the proposal of the president of the Wanganui association that tlie junior New Zealand championships should not be held at the same time as the open championships, but during January.
Miss O. Smith, Wellington provincial breaststroke ehainpiou. and Master D. O’Neill, intermediate freestyle champion, left for the south last evening on their way to the national championships at Timaru.
