700 EGGS SMASHED
Crates Fall From Lorry City markets are short of over 700 as the result of two crates falling from a motor lorry in Waterloo Quay at noon yesterday. The lorry, which had arrived from an outlying district, hit a bumpy patch of road, and the two crates, rather precariously balanced at the back of the truck, fell to the roadway. ~ The result eloquent of tne old saying that eggs are never the same once dropped, and while several "ere recoverable, the driver, after a brief survey, realised the futility of attempting to improve matters and drove off. Each crate contained 30 dozen eggs.
