Wellington December Sale SOME COMPARISONS Official returns compiled by the Wellington Wool Brokers’ Association show that at the Wellington wool sale held on December 8 last 15,591 bales of wool were offered, of’ which 12,033 bales were sold, and 2958 bales passed in. The net weight of wool sold was 4,504,4851 b. Tim gross proceeds totalled £112,308/0/9. The average price pc: little was £B/17/9 ami tiie average price per lb. 5.983 d. At the corresponding sale in December, 1933. 30.208 bales of wool were offered, of which 29,186 bales were sold. Tiie gross proceeds totalled £-115,595/18/4. The average price per bale was £l4/4/0-)-, and the average price per lb. 9.452 d. Although wool prices are low this season they now show a sligltfadvance on the values ruling in December, and tiie market, has a firmer tone, with more general competition forthcoming. Low as prices are, however, compared witli last season, they still show a considerable advance in value over prices ruling in the 1931-32 and 193233 seasons. At the Wellington sale in December, 1932, tiie average price per lb', was 4.098 d., nearly 2d. lower than at last December sale, while the average price per bale was £O/3/11, or £2/13/10 less.
