Visit to Gardens Urged “I would strongly urge all flower lovers to pay a visij to Hie begonia house at the Botanical Gardens, because the more visitors there are to Hm house the more likelihood there is of having something better when times limprove,” said Mr. H. A. Fox, a Wellington grower of begonias, who addressed a combined meeting of the begonia and gladiolus circles of the Wellington Horticultural Society .ast night on the culture of begonias. Mr. Fox said,that it was very easy to grow begonias if one knew how to do so. When tiie circle was formed, a series of papers was read before it by experts, and copies of these, which were still obtainable, contained .’nformation which it had been impossible to secure anywhere in the world when t r ie speaker had taken up Hie hobby about twenty years ago, and was still not easy to obtain. A few sets of the papers could still be supplied. Mr. W. 11. Griffiths spoke oil the growing ami exhibition of gladioli. The meeting wits held in Kirkcalilie and Stains’ lounge, in>which there were large displays of begonias ami gladioli. Exhibits of gladioli were provided b.v Messrs. Griffiths and Jenkins Karori: Mr. T. C. Bilby, Hutt; Mrs. Black-more. Kirkcalilie and Stains’ tearooms ami Mrs. Knox Gilmer: exhibits o* 1 begonias by Mr. H. A. Fox and Hie City Council: of zinnias b.v Mr. 11. H. Johnston, and of dahliis by Mr. O. C. Gidnli
