Proposed Australian Tour Sydney, January 15. Farther progress in the negotiations for a tour of Australia by a Maori Rugby Union team during the coming season was announced at the New South Wales Rugby Union Council meeting. THE LEAGUE CODE New Zealand Request to Australia Sydney, January 15. The general committee of the New South Wales Rugby League deferred until next meeting, on January 30, consideration of a motion providing for the abolition of the Australian Rugby League Board of Control. The question of sending a team to New Zealand this year was also held over pending the decision concerning the Board of Control. The New Zealand League wrote asking the Board of Control to consider an arrangement for an Australian team or, as an alternative, a New South Wales team to make a restricted tour of New Zealand. Tlie New Zealand body asked that the policy of the Australian authorities should not be one of “masterly inactivity,” but that a broad view should be taken and something done to assist the game in New Zealand.
