YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Light Southerly at Wellington At Wellington it was very warm and sunny in the early morning. At about 8.15 a.m. a light southerly breeze sprang up, accompanied by threatening clouds. No rain fell, however, and conditions soon improved. The teniperature at 4 p.m. was 66.4, and the maximum 70.8. Extremely humid conditions prevailed al Masterton, the temperature at 1.45 p.m. being 82.2 degrees in the shade. Tlirouglibut tlie day there was a slight, northerly breeze. At Palmerston North temperatures were high, ami although clouds frequently obscured the sun, there was little relief from the strength of the Bright sunshine prevailed at Wanganui throughout the day, while there was a strong westerly wind. The temperature at 11.30 was 77.5.
Hot weather was experienced, lu Central Hawke’s Bay. The temeprature a t 2 p.m. was 88 degrees.
Although a light southerly wind prevailed at Auckland, conditions were very hot, ideal summer weather being experienced. I The weather was overcast and threatening at Christchurch, but no rain fell. The maximum temperature was 02.7 degrees. The barometer was steady, at 30.11 inches. A light south-west wind and line, sunny weather prevailed at Dunedin. The maximum temperature was 05 degrees. The barometer rose during the day and registered 30.20 inches last evening.
