PEACE IN EUROPE
Settlement of Post-War Problems HOPES OF BRITAIN Recent Agreements Give Encouragement Bv Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received January 15. 12.10 a.in.) London, January 14. The "Daily Telegraph’s” diplomatic correspondent says that the British Cabinet believes that a new opportunity is about to present itself for an all-round settlement of post-war problems. Considerable advances have been made toward an effective security structure in tlie Franco-Italian accord, the Russo-French accord and the pacification of Central Europe. In all these fabrics there is a place awaiting Germany to join as an equal partner. DELEGATES TO GENEVA Important Discussions Geneva, January 13. Many important conversations have been held between the leading delegations to the League. M. Laval, French Foreign Minister, gave Mr. Eden, British Lord Privy Seal, a detailed account of the FrancoItalian agreement. Sir John Simon, British Foreign Secretary, devoted himself to efforts to have the Italo-Abyssin-ian dispute settled directly between the parties instead of by tlie Council. It is understood that Britain is urging an immediate frontier delimitation by an Italo-Abyssinian commission.
