Wellington Market Quiet YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS The Wellington stock and share market opened quietly yesterday, but with a firm tone. Government loans were in strong demand with few sellers and no business passing. Banks were strongly held Buyers of New Zealfinds advanced their offers to 49/2, with sellers holding for 49/4, and New South Wales were wanted at £3l/5/-, with sellers asking £ol 13/-. N.Z. Refrigerating eased slightly, buyers of the fully paid offering 20/9, and sellers asking 21/9, 3d. down on Saturday, while the 10/- paid were on the market at 10/6, with no buyers.. In the mining section sellers of Waihis raised their price to 40/6, with buyers still offering 39/-. Melbourne. January 14. Sales on the Melbourne Stock Exchange to-day included : —Commercial Bank. 16/6; Electrolytic Zinc, 22/9; National Bank, £5 paid, £6/4/6. Bendigo Gold Production Production from the Bendigo goldfield, Victoria, showed a further increase last year. The yield of 30 091 ounces was 1285 ounces larger than that of 1933. Though still the largest producer on the field, the Hercules mine production fell away, 12,514 tons ore yielding 5458 ounces, compared with 11,917 tons for 12,703 ounces in the previous year.
