AIR MAIL ARRIVES
Correspondence For Duke of Gloucester FLOWN TO INVERCARGILL By Telegraph.—L’ress Association. Auckland, January 13. The New Zealand section of the third Empire air mail which left England on December 22 and failed to reach Sydney before the Monowai sailed on January 4 arrived at Auckland by the Mariposa on Saturday morning. The mail consisted of 1727 packets and letters, and included a bag of correspondence for the Duke of Gloucester and his staff. Shortly after the Mariposa berthed, the Royal mail was taken to Mangere Aerodrome in a motor-car and was taken to Invercargill by an Air Force machine piloted by Flight Lieutenant S. Wallingford.
