Barking Dogs at Night
Sir, —There have been many complaints to your paper about disturbiug noises, such as trams and motor-cycles, but one of the worst to put up with is the barking and howling of dogs at night. Sleep is a necessity. When rest is disturbed nearly every night by the 'barking of neighbours-’ dogs, nerves get frayed, and it is impossible to carry out the day’s work properly. I- think that all dogs kept in the residential areas should pay an annual tax of at least £lO. per annum. That would eliminate a lot of noisy mongrels. If a person makes a formal complaint to a magistrate about a noisy dog, an order should be made compelling the owner to destroy the dog or remove it from the district. —.1 tun. etc., DOG TIRED.
