BRIDESMAIDS LATE

Delayed by Traffic Jam In a London church recently a bride and bridegroom waited in vain for the six bridesmaids who were to have followed the bride to the altar. The wedding was that of Captain Edward Murray Harvey, M.C., commercial secretary of the British Embassy at Rio de Janeiro, and Miss Ruby Lee. of Redgate Hill House, Hunstanton. It was at St. Ethelburga’s, Bishopsgate, the smallest church In the City of London. When 10 minutes after the appointed hour, the bridesmaids had-not arrived, it was decided to proceed with the ceremony. Dr. IV. F. Geikie-Cobb, rector of the church, had just pronounced the couple man and wife, when six worried bridesmaids almost ran into the church. They had been held up by a traffic jam.

Miss Dorothy Wilson, the wellknown woman preacher, who spent some time at Auckland over a year ago. recently arrived at Melbourne from England. Miss Wilson is preaching at St Augustus Church. Hawthorn, during this month. Afterward she will visit the other Australian States before leaving on her return to England, via Canada. She may possibly spend some time in New Zealand en route.
