Record Altitude For Aeroplane
(From “The Dominion," January 10, 1010.) The ousting of Canada by New Zealand from the English cheese market is being noteel by the American Press. The only hope for the Canadians, according to a message published in tlie Chicago “Re-cord-Herald” from its Ottaw-a agent. Is that butter-making may again become more profitable than cheese-making In New Zealand.
Mr. Hubert Latham, monopianist, at. Chalons Camp, France, aeroplaned at a beight«of 3200 feet, establishing a record for altitude with a heavier-than-air machine.
Despair for the ultimate construction of the North Auckland main trunk railway has evidently not entered the mind of Mr. Clement Wragge.
