LAWN TENNIS

The fourth series of tennis matches for the Scott-Ramsay Challenge Cup took place recently. The results were as follow :—

Tawa Flat beat Newlands by 9 games to 3; Porirua beat Glenside by 12 games to 0; Johnsonville Methodist beat Kia Ora by 7 games to 3; Woodlands a bye. Owing to insufficiency of time the full number of 12 games was not played in the Johnsonville-Kia Ora match.

The position of the respective teams is as follows: —Johnsonville Methodist, 8 points; Tawa Flat. 8; Porirua, 6; Newlands. 4; Woodlands. 4; Kia Ora, 2; Glenside, 0. The following is the draw for next Saturday’s series of matches: —Tawa Flat v. Porirua, at Tawa Flat; Kia Ora v. Woodlands, at Woodlands: Newlands v. Glenside, al Glenside; Johnsonville Methodist a bye.
