PORKER PIGS
Export to Great Britain Restricted QUOTA IN OPERATION An Order-in-Council restricting the exportation of porker pigs from New Zealand is published in the first issue of the “New Zealand Gazette” for this, year. The order prohibits, save with the consent of the Minister of Agriculture, acting upon the recommendation of the New Zealand Meat Producers Board, the exportation from the Dominion to the United Kingdom of the carcase—or carcases—of any porker pig—or porker pigs—in any vessel scheduled to arrive in the United Kingdom oii or before March 31, 1935.
A footnote explains for general information that, for the purposes of the order and to comply with the requirements of the British Government in respect of the'quantities which may arrive iu the United Kingdom on or before March 31, permits to export will, in the meantime, be granted only in respect of carcases of porker pigs slaughtered on or before December 31 last.
The order came into force with the publication of the “New Zealand Gazette” yesterday.
