CHAMPIONSHIP DIVING FROM A PUNT
Swimming Centre Objects

Christchurch, January 10.
The action of the New Zealand 'Amateur Swimming Association In granting the Auckland Centre permission to decide a stage of the Dominion diving championship from a piint in the harbour during the Annette Kellerman Cup race was criticised at a meeting of. the Canterbury Centre to-night. It was stated that the Otago Centre had protested against this arrangement, and it was agreed to follow the Otago Centre’s example. Miss said the centre should join Otago in protesting against the council’s action. She could not see how the arrangement could be satisfactory. Mr. S. Hollander agreed with Miss Brown. He was surprised that the council had given permission. He did not think it was a good arrangement. The motion was carried unanimously
