DIFFERING REPORTS

Situation in Albania

(Received January 9, 7.45 p.m.)

Athens, January 9.

The situation is obscure in Albania, where Greece has complained of illtreatment of her nationals.

Official circles declare that the rebel leader, Mouhurem Bairaktar, was defeated and fled to Yugoslavia, but another version announces his occupation of an old fortress with 2000 men, fully equipped, who have been strongly reinforced by deserters from Government forces, and are well provided with food. King Zog, who does not desire foreign intervention, is trying to reach an agreement with Bairaktar. A third version says that King Zog is wounded and has gone to Durasso.
