NAVIES OF WORLD
French Suggest Treaty
SMALL NATIONS INCLUDED Paris, January 7. The French Government has sent a Note to the United States with copies to Britain and Japan suggesting that the maritime countries which did not sign the Washington Treaty should participate in a naval treaty replacing it, as it is desirable to control the size of smaller navies; suggesting also that none should feel left out in the cold. It is expected that the text will be published after M. Laval’s conference with Sir John Simon.
