Market in Sellers’ Favour

(Received January 8, 10.30 p.m.) Sydney, January 8. At the wool sales to-day 11,534 bales were offered, 10,996 being sold at auction, and 1107 privately. AH the best features of the previous day’s sales were maintained to-day. Values generally continued to rule in sellers’ favour.
Bidding was brisk from all quarters, and satisfactory clearances were effected. Greasy merino brought to 18d.
Bradford Tops Firm

GRAIN AND PRODUCE Auckland Markets Dominion Special Service. Auckland, January 8. The potato market is fairly steady. Most merchants are obtaining their requirements from suburban growers, as this is more convenient than sending to Pukekohe. Table are quoted at 3/6 per bag, or £6/10/- per ton. Canadian onions are virtually finished for the present season, and their place has been taken by the new season’s Bnkekohe crop, which is now available in fuller quantities at about 4/6 per sugar bag. . Prices for horse feed have shown few important changes in recent months. B Garton oats are still selling at 3/3 per bushel, and chaff at £7/10/- to £7/12/6 per ton, 'but the demand is dull. The price of wheat has not advanced, but fnerchants are likely to make an alteration upward at any time, as <he southern market is very firm. Maize is steady in price, but dull of sale at 4/2 per bushel. Barley is still selling nominally at 4/2 to 4/3 per bushel, but supplies are short.
