Waikare in Peril (From “The Dominion," January 6, 1910.) The Waikare, which struck a rock in Dusky Sound, is in a serious position. It is feared her back will break. The Waikare was making her fourteenth trip to the Sounds, and this was the first occasion she had met with any mishap. She is badly damaged. H.AI.S. Pioneer has left Bluff to pick up the passengers. ♦ » » Al. Delagrangc (who, as a bipianist, for a time held the world's records) has been killed while aeroplaning at Bordeaux. He was using a Blcriot monoplane. He had thrice circled the course at a speed of 40 miles an hour and an average height of 75 feet.
