GOOD PROGRESS MADE
North Island Croquet Tournament Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, January 7. Players at the North Island croquet tournament in Wanganui made good progress in the various events to-day. The semi-finals of the handicap doubles were reached and the semi-finals and final of the championship doubles will lie played to-morrow. The tournament is expected to conclude on Thursday. Results of the semi-final of the handicap doubles are as follow:—E. Managli and Mrs. Bourgeois (61) beat W. F, Jarvie and Miss O’Neill (9), 26-19: C. La Roche and Mrs. Petrie "(61) beat W. Tye and'Mrs. Ogier (10), 26-12.
In the open championship, Mrs. Watkins, Hastings, beat F. C. Bryan, Palmerston North. 26-15, 26-0.,
