A sedan car driven by Major Tatum, who was accompanied by tlie Rev T. Fielden Taylor, left the road while returning from Hokio Beach this afternoon When discovered by another motorist, it wa.s resting on its axles on the brink of an eight-foot drop into the Hokio Stream.

Had the vehicle overturned, both oe cnpnnts would have been very lueky to have escaped injury. As it was, n stout chain was procured from nearby Maoris, and. with tin' assistance of o passing car, Hie other wa.s towed on to the road, where it was found to be none the worse for the misadventure.
