To-day’s Recipe
BRAN RAISIN BREAD Take 1 egg, 1 cup sugar, i cup treacle, 1 cup sour milk, 2 tablespoons fiielted shortening, 1 cup bran, 2 cups flour, | teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 3 teaspoons baking powder, i cup raisins. Beat egg slightly, Add sugar, treacle, milk, melted shortening and bran. Sift flour, soda, salt and baking powder. Mix raisins with flour and add to first mixture. Beat . well. Bake in well-greased loaf tin for H hours in a moderate oven. This will make one large loaf.
