SURF RACING
Lyall Bay Club
Yesterday at Lyall Bay the Lyall Bay Surf and Life Saving Club held the fifth of a series of surf races, promoted primarily as a means of training club members to accustom themselves to all conditions likely to be met with in the course of their duties as patrolmen on the beach. The result of yesterday's race was as follows: — No. 4 team (L. Dawkins. R. Pelham, .1. McDonald. F. Ryan). 1; No. 1 team (J. C. Blakeley. A. Culley. A, Harding. J. Williams, jun). 2; No. 3 team (W. Bell, I-I. Blick, IT. Dickson, L, McKeeman), 3. Individual performances were as fol]nw:_,T. C. Blakeley 1, R. Pelham 2, W. Bell 3, J. Williams, jun. 4, G. Williams 5.
