OBITUARY

Mother M.' St. Eloi

At the Convent of Our Lady of the Missions, at Lower Hutt, on January 3, Mother 51. St. Eloi succumbed to au illness that h’ad lasted several months. Mother St. Eloi was born in France, and shortly after her religious profession she came to New Zealand, 41 years ago. She fulfilled the obligations of her vocation first at Napier, then for about the last twenty years at Lower Hutt. Her kindly disposition endeared her to the children among whom she worked, and until recent years she took a great interest, in al) past pupils of the school. Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated in St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church at Lower Hutt, this morning at 9.30 a.m., after which the funeral will take place at Karori Cemetery.
