YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Cool Southerly in Wellington
At Wellington yesterday a few very light showers fell in the morning, but otherwise, though mostly cloudy, the weather was fair. A cool southerly breeze prevailed. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 62.4 deg., and the maximum during the day 64.6 deg. It was overcast all day in Masterton, with several light showers in the morning, although it remained fine during the afternoon. Cool temperatures were experienced for the first time for some weeks. The weather in Palmerston North was fine and sunny with scattered' clouds. >
The weather in Wanganui showed <j. ! decided improvement, with blue , skies and a slight south-westerly breeze. It was dull and overcast in Waipukurau, and the day was appreciably cooler. The maximum tenipetature was 68, the barometer rising to 29.20.
A light south-west wind with fine cloudy weather prevailed in Auckland, but conditions were unset’tled. The barometer rose to 29.80 in. The sky was overcast iu Christchurch. The wind was light from the southAvest in the morning and from the north-past in the afternoon. ~ The maximum temperature was 59.5 degrees. The barometer rose slightly and. registered 29.89 in. at 5 p.m.
The weather in Dunedin was fine with considerable clouds and occasional sunshine. A light south-west breeze prevailed. The temperature at S a.m. was 53 degrees, and the maximum for the day was 5S degrees. The barometer has risen to 29.80 in.
