“God’s Garden”

Life is a deathless garden Where time is eternal spring And the waters of fulfilment flow And faith has a rock to cling.

’Tis ever the time of harvest, And ever the time of seed, The moments as the seasons are And fruit in the flower of need.

’Twas God himself who made it, Whose hand drdw day from night And set therein those ageless things And named them love and light.

And now is the time of reaping, And now shall the seed be fitting, For love is as the moments are And light is ever young!

—C. E. H. Jacobs, from a book of verse, "God’s Garden.”
