STRATFORD FINAL

Fields for To-day FORM AND PROSPECTS (By "The Watcher”.) The postponed second day of the Stratford Racing Club's New Year meeting will be held to-day. The track promises to be in great order after the rain, and the club should have a successful day. There is a possibility that some of the horses from a distance may have returned home, but fields are sufficient to ensure keen racing.

Emancipation is a fresh horse in the turdles, and his form is above that of the others, so that he should be prominent. Ythan is improving now aud should run well again, while Revision must be taken into consideration, especially with the easing of the going. St. Ames aud Tareha are possibilities, especially should 'he latter reveal his true jumping ability. The favourites are likely to be Emancipation and Ythan. Among the maidens in the Cardiff Stakes the form is not outstanding. The best-backed may be Fast Acre and Husliie.

In the Malone Memorial the Cup winner Fersen is sure to run well again, while the conditions should suit Aga Khan better. Bugle Cali, Musquil, Korero and Silk Sox will be fancied.- Korero’s. finish in the race against Taburangi on the first day was good form. The favourites may be Fersen and Korero. Among the hack sprinters Chief Marionette should be improving, while form is well represented by all the runners with the exception of the maidens at the bottom of the handicap. The best backed may be Princess Star and Chief Marionette.

Korero appears again in the Hack Plate, and if started should run well, but he may prefer the open event. Tahurangi is assured of solid support again for he was a trifle unlucky on the first day. Silk Sox, Dark Marble. St. Clara. All Spirit. Tutor and Royal Dance have to be considered. Most money may come for Tahurangi and St. Clara. The two first day winners Freisland and Collodian, will be well supported in the Electric Juvenile Fast Acre and Lowenberg may also.be backed, but on form the two topweights are likely to be the, popular fancies. Lucidus has a welter weight in the Toko Handicap, but he is built to carry it and on his form is likely to be the favourite. The Tiger, Diagano, Princess Star. Revision and Merry Way look possibilities. The best backed may be Lucidus and Diagano. Running in earlier races may throw some light on prospects in the concluding event. Glenvane is a fresh horse who may show up, and the rain will help him. Favouritism may be shared by Chief Marionette and Glenvane. The card is as follows :■ —-
