OBITUARY

Mrs. Ada Annie Huggins

There died suddenly of heart-fail-ure on Wednesday at her residence, "Taurima,” Hataitai, Mrs. Ada Annie Huggins, wife of Mr. H. A. Huggins. For health reasons Mrs. Huggins was unable to take au active part iu public work but she had a wide circle of friends, and in a private way did much to assist those with whom she came into contact. Very hospitable, she never spared herself in giving pleasure to others. The very name, “Taurima,” which she chose for her home, is typical of this aspect of her character. She leaves a husband, and married daughter, Mrs. Harold Neal, to mourn her loss, as well as a wide circle of friends. Mrs. Margaret Peat The death occurred in Wanganui on December 31 of Margaret Isabella, widow of the late Mr. John Peat, and a very old resident of Wanganui, states a "Dominion” Special Service message from Wanganui. The late Mrs. Peat was formerly Miss Isabella Ling, of Wellington. During the war years she returned to Wellington, performing yeoman service in all kinds of work among the soldiers. Her help in many troubled homes in the country district of Maxwell was much appreciated during her residence there. Mr. W. B. Mossman Tlie death occurred at a private hospital at Gisborne.recently of Mr. William Bertram Mossman, one of the most promising of the younger generation of farmers in the Poverty Bay district. At the age of 19 he enlisted for active service in the Great War, at Auckland iu 1916, and left New. Zealand with the 13th Reinforcements. His family was one with an excellent war record, all his five brothers enlisting. Two died on active service. He was accorded a military funeral.
