TRIAL COMMENCES

Man Charged With Murder of Lindbergh Baby New York, January 2. A message from Flemington, New Jersey, states that what promises to be one of -the most sensational murder trials in American criminal history opened to-day when Bernard Hauptmann was brought before the Bar of Justice on a charge of murdering' the Lindbergh baby. Ten jurors were selected during the day, four of whom were women.

It is expected that the prosecution will call the first witness to-morrow. The newspapers here and abroad are devoting much space to the proceedings.
