New Governor Appointed

Al. Jean Tannery, a Treasury official, succeeds Al. Aloret as governor of the Bank of France. The appointment is regarded as indicating a change in the existing credit restriction policy and a move towards cheaper money. The news had a stimulating effect on the Bourse.
