FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Unsettled and dull; more rain expected; temperatures cooler.
Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for 24 hours ending at 4 p.m. to-day:—
An extensive depression now covers the New Zealand area, its centre yesterday lying across the southern portion of the South Island. Forecast: Northerly to westerly winds north of Westport and Akaroa, moderate to strong and in places reaching gale force; elsewhere moderate and variable at first, but with southerlies soon setting in and later extending temporarily northward. . . Seas rather rough to rough generally in New Zealand waters. Moderate to. strong west to south winds, with rough seas, in the eastern Tasman Sea. _ _ . 2 Unsettled, dull and misty weather, with further rain in most districts and some heavy falls; thunder probable in places. Temperatures becoming cooler.
