DAY ON SHEEP FARM
Shearing Operations Seen By Duke
AFTERNOON IN SADDLE
By Telegraph.—Press Association.
« Ohakune, January 2.
First-hand knowledge of New Zealand sheep shearing and sheep farming operations was obtained by the Duke of Gloucester to-day, when he was shown over Mr. T. A. Duncan’s property at Hunterville. In the sheds the Prince saw machines in full operation, and he displayed great interest in the dogs. * He W’ent into the pens and assisted in drafting the fat lambs from the ewes ready for shearing. He- also examined specimens of wools and took cinematograph photographs of the shearing. Although rain fell in the morning, the weather cleared in the afternoon, which his Royal Highness spent on horseback riding across country and enjoying jumping logs. The Duke rejoined the Royal train at Hunterville, and left Ohakune at midnight for New Plymouth, where he is due in the morning.
