Rugby, December 29. The British film, “Man of Aran." which is based on the life of fisher folk on a lonely island off the north-west coast of Ireland, has been awarded first prize of merit by the United States National- Board of Review for motion pictures, and declared the best film of the past year. . ‘ This is the first time a British flljn has won such a distinction.
