Assets and Liabilities INCREASED NOTE ISSUE

The 21st weekly statement of assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank: of New Zealand, as at the close ot business on Monday, December 24, is as follows .

Proportion of reserve (No. 8 less No. 6) to notes and other demand labilities, 98.38 per cent., c«mpared with 98.39 per cent, on December 17 and 99.18 per cent, on December 10. A decrease of £22,101/ O /2 is shown in sterling exchange which totals ±2d,oui,469/18/8. Gold remains unchanged at £3 001,731. Subsidiary coin has decreased bv £2051/7/2, and stands at £92,779/19/2. A further increase is seen in investments which, at £1,808,924/2/0, show an advance of £21,474/10/9. Other assets at £12.212/3/1 show a decrease of £1 0n. 4 liabilities side, notes _issued show a further advance of £100,624, the total being £9,808,055. Government deposits are £7,255,584/6/1, an increase of £163,828/8/8. Trading banks posits at £9,670,090/14/1 are lower by ±283,324/12/3. Other demand liabilities nave increased by £309/10/- to £5292/9/6. Other liabilities at £41,094/14/-, have decreased by £2263/10/8. . monon.
