PETONE CARNIVAL
Fine Athletic Programme To-morrow Since its opening on Boxing Day, the Petonc carnival has drawn large crowds to the Petonc Recreation Ground, which day and night has presented an animated sight with people,\v O ung and old, enjoying the fun that is to be had there. Merry-go-rounds, side-shows, donkey-rides, and everything else that goes to make a successful carnival, are in full swing, and in the evenings a popular attraction has been the dajicing on the oval. To-morrow is expected to draw the biggest crowd of all, for a fine cycling programme has been arranged by the committee, whose main object, it would seem, is to keep the amusement varied and the patrons happily entertained. In addition to.half-mile anil three-mile cycling events, there will be a novelty race, a pursuit race, and a boys’ race to-morrow. The three-mile event will be for the Neill Cup. The first race will start at 2.15 p.m., and there will be no charge for admission to the ground.
