ICE BREAKING UP
Little America Report (Received December 28, 5.5 p.m.) Little America, December 27. The chief topic of conversation today is the breaking of the Bay of Whales ice, which is sailing in huge flows toward the Ross Sea. The only other item of interest was the receipt of a brief wireless message from the Blackburn geological party indicating that explorations had established that the vast elevated plateau encircling the South Pole is connected with the recently-discovered Marie Byrd Land plateau.
