PLIMMERTON YACHTING
Inter-club Cup Race The first of a series of three inter-club races between Plimmerton and I’aremnta for the Porirua Cup, for Takapunas, was sailed at Plimmerton last Wednesday. Four Paremata aud live Plimmerton boats started, all going well away together. The course was from the club house to Maori Bav, a spinnaker run to Barbers Point, and a beat back to club house, twice round, Noleen, sailed by J. Coleman. secured an early lead, and was closely followed by Twink and Vauitio. Passing the clubhouse at the end of the first round, the positions and times of the boats were as follow: —Noleen, 11.38.10; Twink, 11.39.20; Vanitie, 11.39.21; Watbi, 11.41.0; Swallow. 11.42.25; Paerata, 11.45.30; Wairoa, 11.45.45. In the second round, Watti settled down to a stern chase, and passed all boats in the race, but Noleen, which had secured too big a lead in Ihe first round. Placings and times were as follow: — Noleen (J. Coleman ami W. Pyccroft), 12.18.15 1 Watti (M. Watson and K. 11’111800), 12.19.48 2 Twink, 12.21.15 3 Vanitie. 12.22.52 4 Noleen’s crew for Paremata, and Watti’s crew for Plimmerton, are the representative crews to compete in the Now Zealand Z class championship at Lyttelton next month.
