MAN DEAD IN WHARE
Found After Four Days Dominion Special Service. • x Masterton. Deceinbejii’S. A single man named Richard Wilkes, aged about 63 years, was four-’ r ] in his whare. South Road, to-day. lie was a returned soldier who had been living alone in the whare. As far as is known be had no relatives in tlie'Dom ini on'. He had been 'in the habit of visiting the home of Mr. Harold Montgomery at Manaia each day for milk. He was last seen alive on Monday and. ns he failed to eall for his milk. Mr. Montgomery to-day decided to visit the whare. On arrival he found the door locked and, on looking in through a window, saw Wilkes lying dead on the floor. The police and Dr. Cook were summoned. Dr. Cook expressed the opinion that deatli had occurred about four days ago. Deceased had been treated previously for heart trouble. No inquest will be held, Dr. Cook having given n certificate as to the cause of death.
