HOKITIKA JUBILEE

Celebrations Continued By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hokitika, December 28. The Hokitika jubilee festival was continued to-day in perfect weather conditions. The Pioneer sports gathering yesterday attracted a record attendance, a capital contest eventuating. The sports are being continued to-day, wood-chopping and sawing being the main events. The Pioneers’ social last evening was well attended. Crowds filled the streets to a late hour, the holiday spirit being very noticeable. To-night, the jubilee ball takes place, and the second day’s,races will be held on Saturday. The scenic resorts are attracting large attendances. A special gala night for Saturday has been arranged.
