After a long conference this afternoon between representatives of the friut brokers. and of the buyers’ organisation; the boycott of one of the Christchurch auctioneering firms, which camo into, force on Thursday, was lifted. In the morning the firm that suffered on Thursday continued to have no. custom from supporters of the buyers’ association, and streamers were displayed outside the premises, urging all buyers to go elsewhere, and also asking the growers to-send their consignments to other firms. The notices were contrary to a city by-law, and were soon removed. A meeting of'buyers was held in the morning, and it was then agreed that the boycott should not. be lifted, until the grievances that buyers complain of were done away with. There was also some resentment at police having been called on Thursday, the meeting considering that,’ as there was' no disorder, the police shbuld not. have been brought along.
