4 QUESTION IN HOUSE OF COMMONS
Rugby, February 28. Replying to a question in the House of Commons yesterday, the Prime Min-
ister said the British Government thought it inexpedient to ratify a convention accepting the prohibition of the use in war of asphyxiating poison or other gases until all the important Powers had ratified the protocol or signified their intention of doing so. Asked if he did not think it advisable to set an example in. this matter, Mr. Baldwin replied that he thought the action of the Government was the best way of achieving their ends He added that no Power, so far as he was aware, had signified its intention of ratifying the Convention —British Official Wireless.
