BUDE MURDER
SUSPECT IN COURT London, February 28. William Mavnard, charged with the murder of Richard Roadley, was carried into court at Bude doubled up on a mattress and covered with a rug. Though a doctor certified that he was perfectly able to appreciate the proceedings, Maynard continued to writhe and groan as though in agony throughout the formal proceedings, which were adjourned. Maynard later recovered sufficiently to walk steadily.
