INSTITUTE OF SURVEYORS
Tho I’ebruary meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors was held on Monday and Tuesday. Mr. Preston Chambers (Auckland) presided, and there were present Messrs. S. T. Seddon. M. Crompton-Smith, F. H. Waters, of Wellington; C. K. Grierson and M. IT. Miller, of Auckland: IL L. Paterson, of Dunedin; E. C Barker, of Christchurch; and A. 11. Bogle, of Wanganui. It was reported that owing to the high standard of conduct nnd technical efficiency of the profession in New Zealand. Eastern countries wit h large, areas slill undeveloped were looking in. an increasing degree to New Zealand-trained men. The eoun' il went as a dennfation to the Minister of Lands to urge upon him the nrgonev of flic new Stirrer Bill. nnd to discuss with him an improved method of lowing the Dcnarfment’s demand for reserves in subdivisions of land for residential purposes.
