Accused, who was arrested in Dunedin, where he resides, was allowed bail in the sum oi £5O. with one similar surety. Robert Cleary Fletcher, a stevaid, aged 28, who admitted forging a do< ument (a testimonial) at Auckland, purported to bo signed by J. l). Aluctariau” M.D.. F.R.C.6., of London, was committed to the Supreme Court lor sentence.
BY-LAW BREACHES Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., dealt with offenders against the by-laws on iuesduy afternoon. .... For speeding, Constance IL Atkinson, Horace John Archer, and Irancie John Douglas were each lined £2. Oliver wiilehpie was fined £1 for a like olieiice. Edward Schroder Barber was lined £1 for turning a motor-car in Willis Street. John Hamilton Miles, James Vincent Fahey, Daniel Foley. Thomas John Hrth, Ivo Stedman, Barry Joel Woodcock, L-V’ril John Hawke, Alfred Cecil Kellett Donald McPherson, Lyford Palmci, Glaudo Frederick Ryland, Percy Wallace Sampson, and Leslie James Miodieton, vveie each fined itis. for not having their vehicles properly lighted. Haiold Hayward Clarke was fined £1 for failing to' stop his motor-cycle on request. „ , George Gillies was fined £3 on a cnarge o! dangerous driving. Francis Edward u Neill was fined £1 for using a motor-car without endorsed certificates , , . Phoenix Service Station was ordered to pay 10s. costs for permitting the uso ox au unlicensed motor-vau. A fine oi 10s. was imposed on K. G. Mexted for leaving his motor-car unattended. George Easto was fined £2 on one charge, and half that amount on another, for failing to produce his driver’s license. For failing to notify the change oi ownership of a motor-car, Inglis Bros., Ltd., were fined £2 . Defence prosecutions resulted m Alfred Hector Robinson being fined £1 for failing to register, and Albert Wilson 10s. on each of two charges of failing to attend drill.
