SOCIAL EVENING

The Wellington branch of the Women’s Teachers' Association held a "social” last night in the Teachers’ Institute on die Terrace, when the wives of inspectors, women inspectors, and others were invited io meet the women teachers of Wellington. Oversea visitors, who were also guests of honour, included Miss Pcnnethorne, secretary of the National Parents' Educational Union, Miss Houghton, who has come out to New Zealand to demonstra'e the value of eurythmics, and also her sisters, who are visit ng here. Miss Park presided, and introduced Miss Pennethorne, who gave a brief address on the work of the union. During the evening Miss Davies and Miss Hitch ngs sang, and supper brought a very enjoyable occasion to a close.
