WATER BOARD

VISIT TO AKATARAWA The Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup) and the members of the Water Board paid an official visit to the Akatarawa Valley vesterdav, and in the course of a few hours were able to get a very fair idea as to how the land lies and the water runs as far as the Whakatiki and Little Akatarawa streams are concerned. After the recent rain there was a fair Ixxly of water in both streams, and it was not possible to say to what extent they were diminished in flow during the recent dry spell, but such information is at the disposal of the Water Board from records previously secured. There will be a meeting of the board this morning.
